Tips to help increase your employability after graduation

  • 1. Networking

Networking is important as it is one of the essential ways for you to increase your professional contacts and your employability and help you enhance your communication skills. You can do so by joining professional associations and meeting alumni/individuals who are relevant to your field of interest.

  • 2. Keep yourself updated on the different job listings platforms.

Identify the commonly used and updated job listings such as newspapers, Job Centre Brunei’s & SPA’s (Pejabat Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam) websites, CoNECT’s social media accounts, and others. To see the latest opportunities please visit MyCoNECT Career Vacancies

  • 3. Participate in career fairs.

Whether it is one organised by us or the relevant government agencies, make a point to always attend these fairs as it is not only a good way to know about vacancies, but also a good opportunity to network with employers from different industries. Bring along your resume/CV or if you want to go the extra mile, print out your own name cards to make yourself more accessible.

  • 4. Visit often the websites of the companies you are interested in.

Make a list of the companies that you are interested to work in and make frequent visits to their websites to check whether they have job vacancies and for news and development updates.

  • 5. Invest time (and if you have, money) on LinkedIn

Linkedln is the largest professional network where you can find out more about different vacancies around the world, updated career news and get connected with people from different backgrounds. You can explore more at .
